Reasons to Book Cheap Auckland Flights

Equally famous for volcanoes and yachts, Auckland is the largest city and the touchdown point of tourism in New Zealand. Ahead of being the nation’s economic center, it is a melting pot of four distinct cultures (Polynesian, Asian, European and the native Maori) and a hotbed of some of the most scintillating pieces of natural scenery that one would ever come across. It is governed by three A’s - arts, antiquity and architecture.

Sky Tower

Measuring 328 meters, the Sky Tower is Auckland’s star attraction and the tallest man-made structure in the Southern Hemisphere. It attracts more than a thousand visitors every day and most of them visit it for the country’s only revolving restaurant which is located 620 ft above the ground and turns a full circle once every hour. Ten feet above it is located the ‘SkyJump’, from where a person can take a jump under guided supervision to the ground below at incredible speeds of more than fifty miles an hour.

One Tree Hill

Emblematic of Auckland and its history, One Tree Hill is a 182-metre high volcanic peak in the city. It is situated amidst lush greenery, walking trails, historical remains of a fortified village and the memorial of ‘the father of Auckland’, Sir John L Campbell. The summit of the hill is a stone pillar that stands as a memorial to an unknown Maori warrior. Close to it is situated the grave of the Sir John L Campbell who had donated part of his fortunes for making the memorial. On the southwest corner of the park are situated the remains of a fortified village of pre-European era.

Auckland War Memorial Museum

One of New Zealand’s most important museums, the Auckland War Memorial Museum is directly related to the nation’s history across chronological and martial domains. Since it is located in Auckland, it also has a number of historical objects related to the city’s history. It is located inside a beautiful Neo-Classic structure that stands on a grassy land atop the remains of a dormant volcano.
