Reasons to Book Cheap Belgrade Flights

Belgrade (meaning - the White City) is the capital of Serbia. Located at the confluence of Sava and Danube rivers, this 2500 year old city is known for its historical significance and architectural identity. Its architecture is an eclectic mix of Neo-Byzantine, Art Nouveau, Neoclassic, Romantic, Brutalist and Modernist styles but has a consistent milky white tone to all resulting masterpieces. Next to its Belgrade is a closed bracket of a beach and a number of opera houses, museums, cathedrals, palaces and historical fortresses and streets.

Belgrade Fortress

Built in 3rd century BC and declared a Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1979, the old Belgrade Fortress is the city’s oldest standing structure section and was once a primitive military fortification that has seen more than a hundred wars. It’s inside perimeter is marked by a park, museums and an observatory besides cafes, tennis and basketball courts. It offers a stunning view of the confluence of local Sava and Danube rivers and is emblematic of a statue of Pobednik (or the winner).

Ada Ciganlija

Ada Ciganlija is a river island on Sava River with an artificial lake in the Belgrade. It is the primetime attraction of the city and has an 8 km long gravel beach along its lake that is visited by thousands of visitors for rafting, water skiing, and bungee jumping during the day and for its iconic Ada Bridge that shines through the night here. The biggest draw here is that it is totally soundproof to the city noise outside and supports a unique ecosystem that is heavily forested and is home to a large number of migratory birds.

Nikola Tesla Museum

Nikola Tesla (1856-1943) was a Serbian-American inventor who is best known for designing modern alternating current electricity supply systems and mobile communications. One half of this museum is dedicated to Tesla's works and the other half contains old models of his inventions.
