Orszaghaz (House of the Country or the Parliament)

The Parliament of Budapest is the largest building in Hungary, the tallest building in Budapest and one of the oldest legislative buildings in Europe. Comprising of both Gothic Revival and Renaissance Revival architectural styles, this superstructure contains 42 sculptures on the walls, numerous decorated stairs, 88 statues of political leaders and a sixteen-sided central hall and stunning work of stained glass. Of central significance here are the Hungarian crown jewels exhibited under the cupola.

Royal Palace

The 800 year old Royal Palace is located atop Castle Hill and is home to two museums, one library and one art gallery of national importance. While the museum keeps a track of 200 year old artifacts, the art gallery has a vivid collection of a thousand years old evolution of Hungarian Art mostly in stones and paintings.

Momento Park

Memento Park is an open-air museum in Budapest. It has statues of Communist leaders like Lenin, Marx and Engels besides many Hungarian Communist leaders that correspond to Hungarian Communist Period (1949-89). It is divided into two sections - Statue Park and Witness Square. The former is home to the discarded Soviet era statues or monuments while the latter has an iconic replica of Stalin's Boots after his statue was unceremoniously pulled down in 1956.
